Mathilde, however, has made exemplary work of it here. The carefully sorted grapes were destemmed and gently punched down during the fermentation on native yeasts. |

Sweet raspberry, cinnamon, mint, new leather and licorice resonate off the palate in a generous, open Nuits loaded with class and pure textural volume. Flowers, dried herbs and mint add complexity over time. The 2012 should drink well with minimum cellaring because of its pure generosity and volume, but it also has more than enough stuffing to age well for a number of years. This is a great example of the Grivot house style at its very best. |

Vinous (92-94)The 2017 Nuits Saint-Georges Aux Boudots 1er Cru has one of the most vivacious bouquets of the range, featuring shimmering red cherries, wild strawberry, bergamot and hints of Earl Grey coming through with time. The palate is medium-bodied with very fine, filigreed tannin, silky-smooth texture and a slightly savory, persistent finish. A supremely well crafted wine from Grivot. |
