  • Camille Giroud Chambertin Grand Cru 2018 (6x75cl)

    Vinous (95)

The 2018 Chambertin Grand Cru is more backward on the nose than Rossignol-Trapet’s Chambertin tasting blind alongside, the fruit is high-toned and darker, whilst the oak is a little more prominent. It loses a bit of finesse and complexity in the glass. The palate is medium-bodied with sappy red fruit, lightly spiced, quite muscular in style with a flattering finish. Yet, it lacks the effortlessness of the finest Chambertins in this vintage and there is just a slight sour aftertaste. Tasted blind at the Burgfest 2018 red tasting.
  • Camille Giroud Chambertin Grand Cru 2020 (6x75cl)

    Vinous (95-97)

The 2020 Chambertin Grand Cru is very well-defined and focused on the nose, mineral-rich black fruit, sous-bois and cedar emerging with time, conveying a sense of effortlessness. The palate is medium-bodied with fine-grain tannins, an almost symmetrical balance with a poised, pixelated finish. This is an outstanding Chambertin that will age with style. • Camille Giroud Chambertin Grand Cru 2021 (6x75cl)

    Vinous - Neal Martin (94)

The 2021 Chambertin Grand Cru was one of a handful of crus out of sorts from barrel but now in bottle, I am happy to report that it is a completely different wine. It has a delectable bouquet with beautifully defined red berry fruit, wild hedgerow and wilted rose petal that unfolds so delicately in the glass. The palate is fresh and vibrant with crunchy red fruit, crisp and saline. There is just a touch of soy in the background that lends it an almost Oriental finish. Very harmonious with a long and quite assertive ferrous finish, this is a fine and actually quite feisty Chambertin. Tasted blind at the Burgfest tasting.
  • Camille Giroud Chambolle-Musigny Les Borniques 2021 (6x75cl)

The Camille Giroud Chambolle-Musigny Les Borniques 2021 epitomises the elegance and finesse of Burgundy’s esteemed Chambolle-Musigny appellation. Crafted from meticulously selected Pinot Noir grapes grown in the renowned Les Borniques vineyard, this vintage benefits from the dedication of the Camille Giroud estate, renowned for their sustainable viticultural practices and biodynamic approach. Hand-harvested and gently sorted, the grapes undergo traditional vinification techniques, including precise fermentation and aging in French oak barrels, ensuring the preservation of the wine’s delicate structure and aromatic complexity. On the palate, it reveals vibrant red berry notes intertwined with subtle floral undertones and a hint of earthy minerality, supported by silky tannins and a balanced acidity. The 2021 climate has bestowed this cuvée with exceptional balance and depth, promising both immediate pleasure and graceful ageing potential. A quintessential expression of Chambolle-Musigny craftsmanship, the Camille Giroud Chambolle-Musigny Les Borniques 2021 is a distinguished choice for connoisseurs seeking refined sophistication in their fine wine selection.

  • Camille Giroud Charmes-Chambertin Grand Cru 2013 (6x75cl)

    Vinous (92-94)

The 2013 Charmes-Chambertin is all about sensuality. Silky tannins shape a textured, resonant Charmes that should drink well with minimal cellaring. Bright stone fruit and sweet floral notes are nicely pushed forward in this pretty, super-expressive Burgundy.

  • Camille Giroud Charmes-Chambertin Grand Cru 2015 (6x75cl)

    Vinous (88-91)

The 2015 Charmes-Chambertin is a soft-open knit wine with mid-weight structure and good overall persistence. This is the only wine in the range I tasted from tank. Perhaps for that reason, the Charmes is a bit reticent. It will be interesting to see if the wine gains more volume. The decision to move this wine into tank and bottle it early, suggests it may not have the depth of the best wines in the range. - Antonio Galloni

  • Camille Giroud Charmes-Chambertin Grand Cru 2017 (6x75cl)

    Vinous (91-94)

The 2017 Charmes-Chambertin Grand Cru is not quite totally put together, and yet it offers superb depth and persistence. Dark blue/purplish fruit, licorice, spice and lavender are pushed forward. Deep, exuberant and immediate, the Charmes offers all of the open-knit, inviting character that is so typical of this site. The 2/3rds whole clusters are very nicely balanced in the early going.

  • Camille Giroud Charmes-Chambertin Grand Cru 2019 (6x75cl)

    Vinous (91-93)

The 2019 Charmes-Chambertin Grand Cru shows the 60% whole bunch on the nose, slightly overshadowing the blackberry and briary aromas. It’s quite Morey-like in style. The palate is well balanced with a structured opening, though perhaps not quite as precise and as elegant as the Clos de la Roche. There’s a touch of dryness on the finish.

  • Camille Giroud Clos Vougeot Grand Cru 2015 (6x75cl)

    Vinous (92-95)

The 2015 Clos de Vougeot is an impressive wine. Huge tannins give the 2015 much of its shape and sense of direction. Plum, crème de cassis, chocolate and lavender all develop in the glass. Ample and powerful in construction, the 2015 possesses very good depth, even if it can't match the pedigree of the Chambertin. This is another wine with a late malo. I hope to have a chance to taste it again from bottle. - Antonio Galloni

  • Camille Giroud Clos Vougeot Grand Cru 2020 (1x75cl)

    Vinous (91-93)

The 2020 Clos de Vougeot Grand Cru, which comes from Petit Maupertui, is tightly wound on the nose, quite concentrated but just missing a little amplitude at the moment. The palate is medium-bodied with firm tannins, quite peppery even though there is no whole bunch here, fine grip towards the finish. Give this 4-6 years in bottle. Has it got something else up its sleeve?

  • Camille Giroud Corton Clos du Rois Grand Cru 2012 (6x75cl)

    Vinous (92-94)

Dark red cherries, plums, smoke, licorice and menthol are all woven together beautifully in the 2012 Corton Clos du Roi. The firm tannins and brilliant, chiseled minerality suggest the 2012 will drink beautifully for many years, once all the elements have come together a little more fully. In 2012 the Clos du Roi is quite dark and eccentric, but it also holds considerable promise once the imposing tannins soften and release the layers of fruit that are waiting to fully emerge.
