The NV Brut Majeur shows lovely balance in an approachable, up-front style well-suited to near-term drinking. Clean, mineral notes add a sense of proportion on the fresh, vibrant finish. The blend is 45% Pinot Noir, 35% Chardonnay and 20% Pinot Meunier, 80% of which is from the 2004 vintage, while the rest of the wine is composed of Pinot Noir and Chardonnay reserve wines. Disgorged January, 2010. Anticipated maturity: 2010-2014.Inc. GSTSG$476.90 -

A beautifully layered and subtly yeasty nose reflects notes of poached pear and apple, Meyer lemon and pretty floral hints. The complexity of the nose can also be found on the palate of the rich and generously proportioned medium weight flavors that are supported by firm but fine mousse on the dry but not austere finale. Like many 2012s, this is fleshy and round but here, it manages to retain a certain stylish grace. For my taste, this could be enjoyed now or held for another 5-ish or so years. Interestingly, this bottle showed much better than did one tasted in 2022.Inc. GSTSG$270.23 -
