Vinous (87-89)The 2018 Beaune Boucherottes 1er Cru has a lovely blackcurrant and raspberry bouquet with just a touch of vanilla emanating from the oak. The palate is medium-bodied with pliant tannins, soft and rounded with juicy red cherries and strawberry fruit on the finish. Very approachable, although I am not convinced it is long-term. |

James Suckling (96)A very elegant and refined Echezeaux that nimbly moves over your palate. Underplayed power and very fine tannins make this a shy beauty, but if you give it time and attention then you will be amply rewarded. Very silky and delicate, long finish. From organically grown grapes. Drink or hold. |

Wine Advocate (95-97)The 2019 Echézeaux Grand Cru is brilliant, soaring from the glass with scents of exotic spices, wild berries, plums, rose petals, raw cocoa, peonies and blood orange. Full-bodied, layered and multidimensional, it's deep and complete, with supple tannins and a gourmand, enveloping core of fruit, concluding with a long and mouthwatering finish. This is the finest Echézeaux I've tasted from Guyon. |

Jasper Morris Inside Burgundy (97-100)First picked, 100% decorticated. “This is the best wine I have made in my life”. Rich noble imperial purple. All right, team, this really is it! “Tu le bois avec le nez, you drink it with your nose”. No question here. This completely works as there is not the slightest sensation of cooked fruit. No spitting. I don’t know what to say. Actually I was just formulating the words that this is the finest Echezeaux I have tasted in my life when Jean-Pierre interrupted to say that Michel Bettane thought the same! An intensely seductive lush red velvet fruit covering an entirely perfect bone structure. One of the wines of the vintage. Could be THE wine of the vintage. Tasted: November 2021 |

Jasper Morris Inside Burgundy (93-96)Exceptionally concentrated, indeed super saturated purple, with massive weight on the nose. There is also a huge weight of fruit to the back of the palate. While the wine from En Orveaux lacks the dainty detail which Echezeaux can have, it offers graceful muscle instead. |

Imbued with elegance and complexity, Le Grappin Beaune 1er Cru Les Greves Blanc 2018 is a stellar example of fine Burgundy wine from the renowned Beaune vineyards of France. Masterfully crafted by Le Grappin, an artisanal winery with immaculate eco-conscious practices, this wine is a testament to the terroir's heritage. Bearing a luminous golden hue, cultivating a heady bouquet of ripe orchard fruits, nuances of toasted almonds and a delicate mineral undertone, its radiance is undeniable. The process of vinification involves meticulous hand-harvesting, native yeast fermentation and state-of-the-art temperature-controlled cellars, yielding a wine that articulates the unique expression of this eminent Premier Cru vineyard. Against the backdrop of an old-school approach, Le Grappin Beaune 1er Cru Les Greves Blanc 2018 is an embodiment of modern innovation, honouring Burgundy's winemaking traditions while intertwining finesse, exuberance and longevity in a seamless union. |

Tim Atkin MW (94)A solidly constructed Gr ves, this showcases pure red fruits, savory spice, good refreshment, nicely corralled tannins and a minerally finish. It is a bit four-square now but has all the stuffing and structure to settle down nicely in a few years. 2024-28 |

Wine Advocate (92+)Opening in the glass with aromas of sweet berries, cherries and plums framed by a deft application of toasty new oak, the 2018 Beaune 1er Cru Célébration (Maison Louis Jadot) is medium to full-bodied, deep and layered, with a fleshy core of fruit structured around rich tannins and succulent acids. It's a hearty, generous wine that should evolve nicely in the cellar. As usual, it's a blend of more than a dozen Beaune premiers crus. |

Wine Advocate (94+)The 2016 Echézeaux Grand Cru wafts from the glass with a deep bouquet of smoked meats, cassis, blackberries, incense and rich soil tones. On the palate, it's full-bodied, velvety and enveloping, with rich but supple tannins, a deep and concentrated core of fruit, lively acids and a long, thrillingly carnal finish. This is a beautifully made Echézeaux from this challenging frost vintage. |
