Vinous (90-92)(just four barrels made, from fruit picked at the end of the harvest and painstakingly sorted) Good deep red-ruby color. Elegant, vibrant aromas of raspberry, minerals, smoke and stone. Can't match the last few wines for stuffing but there's plenty of power-and tannic spine-to the fresh blackberry and mineral flavors. Finishes broad but quite tannic. It will be interesting to follow this wine into the bottle. |

Vinous (92-94)The 2017 Chapelle-Chambertin Grand Cru is much more reserved on the nose compared to the Charmes-Chambertin, the fruit a little darker. There is something of a crushed-pebble, almost beach-like scent, a distant tang of cockle sheds that surfaces with aeration. The palate is medium-bodied with fine-grained tannin and a little more depth and grip than the Charmes-Chambertin, even if it does not quite display the same sensuality and flesh on the finish. Good potential. |

Vinous (94-97)(Perrot-Minot lost half of the crop here to frost in 2016): Good dark red. Knockout nose combines all the major Clos de Bèze food groups: raspberry, spices, rose petal, leather and stony, smoky silex minerality. Large-scaled, silky and mouthfilling without any undue weight, conveying a higher-pH impression than most of the other '16s here--but Perrot-Minot assured me that it's not above 3.45. Boasts serious thickness of texture leavened by smoky soil tones. Superrich, palate-staining, aristocratic wine with a great future. |

Vinous (92-94)The 2017 Chambertin Clos-de-Bèze Grand Cru has a clean, precise bouquet that is focused and direct, offering red and black fruit, crushed stone and more terroir expression than the Mazoyères. The palate is medium-bodied, the sappy red fruit on the entry laced with marmalade and dried quince, and grippy in the mouth, with a touch of spiciness, although it does not fan out on the finish as I hoped. Hopefully it will fill out with bottle age. |

Vinous (96-98)The 2018 Chambertin Clos-de-Bèze Grand Cru has a supremely well-defined, stony, intense bouquet that is just as detailed as the Chambertin, if not more so. This has fathomless depth. The palate is medium-bodied with very fine tannins, taut and linear at first then fanning out beautifully toward the finish. Immense grace and grandeur combine to make an utterly compelling Clos-de-Bèze. |

Burghound (96-98)(Don't Miss!) This is aromatically similar to the Chambertin but, as is usually the case, much spicier and this spiciness carries over to the beautifully textured and lavishly rich flavors that possess that wonderful quality of inner mouth perfume, all wrapped in a powerful and gorgeously textured and massively long finish. This beauty is at once sophisticated yet robust and a wine that should live for several decades. Brilliant and one of the wines of the vintage. |

Wine Advocate (97)The 2014 Chambertin Grand Cru seems to offer more fruit intensity on the nose compared to the 2014 Clos-de-Bèze, with cranberry and fresh strawberry, and a touch of damp woodland in the background. It gains intensity in the glass. The palate is medium-bodied but with great substance and depth than the Clos de Bèze; there is a keen line of acidity cutting through the intense red berry fruit, and wonderful mineralité and tension on the finish. It just gradually gains in intensity before it fans out with a sense of confidence and entitlement, as befitting a Chambertin. This is a superb wine. |

Vinous (96-98)Dark red with ruby tones. Deeper, darker and earthier than the Clos de Bèze, conveying aromas of dark raspberry, spices and rare steak but less of the high-pitched mineral and floral notes of its sibling. Large-scaled, brooding and backward, but still more red fruits than black in style, with its density and power leavened by electric acidity. Combines incredible thickness and volume without a light touch, thanks to penetrating soil-driven minerality. Finishes with an uncanny impression of solidity but no excess weight. This brilliant Chambertin is built for a very long life in bottle. |

Vinous (94-96)The 2017 Chambertin Grand Cru has the most backward and surly nose of Christophe Perrot-Minot’s Grand Crus, but it just needs a few swirls to reveal enticing raspberry, cranberry, brown spice and slightly ferrous aromas. The mineralité starts to reveal itself with aeration. The medium-bodied palate offers supple tannin, gorgeous pure raspberry preserve notes mixed with blood orange, sea salt and light quince, and marmalade notes toward the succinct finish. Predictably as it might read, this is the best 2017 from Perrot-Minot. |

Vinous (95-97)The 2019 Chambertin Grand Cru boasts enthralling precision and detail on the nose with exuberant black cherry and wild strawberry fruit, a fine sense of mineralité and focus. The palate is medium-bodied with supple tannins, very harmonious and expansive in the mouth with a very spicy finish thanks to a liberal sprinkling of cracked black pepper. What a lovely Chambertin! |

Vinous (95-97)The 2020 Chambertin Grand Cru has a very complex bouquet that unfolds in the glass, a mélange of red and black fruit, pressed violets, rose petal and just a touch of autumn woodland. The palate is medium-bodied with a touch of white pepper on the entry, quite saline in the mouth with a sapid finish. Like Perrot-Minot’s other wines, this rests in the red fruit profile and it has the substance to age well in bottle. |

Vinous (91-94)Red-ruby. Reticent aromas of redcurrant, dried flowers, iron, smoke, rocks and gingery spice. Bright and sappy on the palate, with insidious sweetness and intensity to its dark fruit flavors. Very stylish wine, finishing pure, spicy and long, with firm but very fine tannins. |

Burghound (92-94)This is cool and pure to the point of being almost timid with its restrained array of red currant, pomegranate, earthy and softly sauvage-inflected nose. This is clearly built-to-age yet it's already inviting. |

At once silky, sappy and savory, conveying a captivating light touch and terrific inner-mouth tension to its sharply delineated red raspberry, pomegranate and crushed-rock flavors. Finishes with compelling mounting perfume and saliva-inducing briskness. Not at all a fleshpot for the vintage, this classy Charmes-Chambertin struck me as rather Chambolle-like. |

Vinous (92-94)The 2019 Charmes-Chambertin Vieilles Vignes Grand Cru, which comes from Perrot-Minot’s own vineyard, is a bit sullen on the nose compared to the Griottes. It never quite obtains the same amplitude, feels a little timid, a Charmes that doesn’t charm at the moment probably due to a bit of reduction. The palate is medium-bodied with very supple, rounded tannins. The concentration is loaded on the back end of this Charmes though I feel that the Griottes has more delineation and nerve. |

Today, the Mazoyères comes across as seriously tannic and closed, which is likely a good thing for the future. |

Wine Advocate (95-97)The 2015 Mazoyères-Chambertin Vieilles Vignes Grand Cru has the most vivacious and intense bouquet amongst Christophe's 2015s, billowing red and dark cherries, creme de cassis, crushed violets and blood orange. The palate is medium-bodied with fine tannin and extremely well-judged acidity. As such, there is outstanding focus here and a sense of precision running all the way through to the finish. This is a seriously fine Mazoyères-Chambertin that must rank as one of the best this domaine has produced. |
