About Mount Langi Ghiran
The Mount Langi Ghiran vineyard was first planted in 1970 and is now called the “Langi Old Block” due to of the age of the vines. Old Block is typically one of the last Shiraz vineyards to be harvested in Australia thanks to the cooler climate that creates particularly expressive & elegent Shiraz. A long, slow ripening season contributes to the development of a stunning range of fruit flavours, perfumes, pepper and spice that have elevated this wine to great critical acclaim.
In 1996, Mount Langi Shiraz received international acknowledgement when it appeared on the cover of Wine Spectator alongside the iconic Penfolds Grange and Henschke’s Mount Edelstone Shiraz. Since then it has remained in the upper levels of Australian Shiraz in the eyes of collectors and was put in the 'Excellent' category in the most recent Langton's Classification of Australian Wine.
