Jasper Morris Inside Burgundy (93-97)A low key lemon and lime colour. Clean fresh and classic on the nose. Vinous (93)The 2018 Meursault Charmes-Dessus 1er Cru has a clean and precise bouquet. Understated at first, it opens with crushed rock, white flowers and touches of citrus fruit. It appears to build in intensity. The palate is quite oaky on the entry, although that should be subsumed with time. Good substance, slightly reductive, yet judiciously spiced with ample depth on the satisfying finish. Great potential. Tasted blind at the Burgfest 2018 white tasting. |

Vinous (94)The 2018 Meursault Les Perrières 1er Cru is very harmonious on the nose. Yellow flowers, Japanese yuzu, quince and orange zest open with aeration whilst maintaining superb focus. The palate is very well balanced with a fine bead of acidity, taut and fresh with a welcome bitter lemon note that upholds tension and salinity on the finish. I like where this Perrières is going - one to watch. Tasted blind at the Burgfest 2018 white tasting. |

Jasper Morris Inside Burgundy (90-93)Not in bottle. Two plots, one of old vines at the southern end, one at the north, slightly younger and more productive. An elegant and charming bouquet which continues across the palate, with a fine crunchy acidity to finish. May not call attention to itself, but it is fine. Drink from 2027-2034. Jasper Morris Inside Burgundy (90)Pale lemon colour. A lean and crisp style of Puligny in 2021. Rather lovely on the palate, some citrus some riper fruit, more floral than the Meursault, with a clean poised and balanced finish. Drink from 2025-2028. Tasted: November 2022 |

Vinous - Neal Martin (90-92)The 2022 Pernand-Vergelesses Clos de la Croix de Pierre has more detail and terroir expression than the Combottes: well-defined with crushed stone and dried yellow flowers complementing the citrus fruit. The palate is well-balanced with a waxy texture. A dash of white pepper enlivens this Pernand, which fans out nicely on the finish. One of my picks from Jadot's whites this year. |

Wine Advocate (93+)My favorite premier cru in the range this year is the 2018 Chablis 1er Cru Butteaux, a lovely wine that wafts from the glass with aromas of citrus oil, green apple, pear, oyster shell and pastry cream. Medium to full-bodied, taut and structured, with fine concentration and chalky extract, it concludes with a mouthwateringly saline finish. |

Jasper Morris Inside Burgundy (91-95)Pale colour with green tints, very fresh, there is even a little bit of noble reduction. The 2018 Forêts delivers an absolutely scintillating, crystalline purity. There is impressive weight on the palate, balanced by a refreshing greener element to the fruit. |

Wine Advocate (95)The 2018 Chablis Grand Cru Valmur is brilliant, unwinding in the glass with notes of crisp green apple, white flowers, fresh bread, iodine and oyster shell. Full-bodied, satiny and concentrated, with chalky extract and tangy acids, it's one of the cooler, more tensile wines in the range and stands out as a particular highlight. |

Burghound (94)There is even better Chablis character to the more elegant and cooler array of green apple, acacia blossom, oyster shell and quinine-infused aromas. I very much like the mouthfeel of the refined and intense middleweight flavors that brim with both minerality and dry extract, both of which are present on the impressively complex and strikingly long finale. This is extremely stylish with the innate finesse of a reference standard Blanchot. |

Jasper Morris Inside Burgundy (96)(5-Star Wine) From 60+ year old vines on the plateau part of Les Preuses. A pale lemon colour. The immediately joyous nose is making me smile. Wine Advocate (93-95+)The 2020 Chassagne-Montrachet 1er Cru Tête du Clos is one of the high points of the range this year. Burghound (93-96)This is also wonderfully pure, elegant and ultra-fresh with an equally floral-inflected nose of lemon zest, wet stone and an herbal tea hint. There is an evident minerality to the beautifully detailed and highly energetic middle weight plus flavors that possess superb depth on the gorgeously textured, focused and firm finish. This isn't quite as refined as the Perrières but it's notably more powerful and should ultimately prove to the more complete wine if allowed to reach its apogee. |
