Those who know and love Bollinger, with its intensely rich yet restrained style, will certainly be a fan of its rose, modelled on the Special Cuvee but with 5% still red wine added from Grand Cru sites in Cote d’Ay and Verzenay. Pinot-Noir based and with long lees-ageing and wood fermentation, there is plenty of Pinot cinnamon spice along with pretty red fruits, pain aux amandes, and a soft, silky texure. Much more serious than many a rose and a worthy offering from the legendary Bollinger.

Bollinger

Where does the legend of Bollinger begin? Does it start when Lily Bollinger took over the House when her husband died during the war? Or was it even further back, when the House received a Royal Warrant from the Court of England in 1884? Bond fans may argue it was when Ian Fleming featured Bollinger in his fourth James Bond novel, Diamonds are Forever. And the legend begins again each time a bottle is popped.
