Barone Ricasoli Chianti Classico Roncicone Gran Selezione is an exciting new wine in the estate’s portfolio, and it is the result of a long zoning and soil research project. One of three Gran Seleziones in the portfolio, Roncicone is the smallest single-vineyard cuvée, and it is made purely from Sangiovese. The Roncicone vineyard itself is unique. It overlooks Chianti Classico at an elevation of 320m, and the soil is full of marine deposits, clay and sand, which provide immense floral freshness and well-defined minerality to the wine.

Barone Ricasoli

Ricasoli is the oldest estate in Chianti. Incredibly, it is one of the four oldest businesses in the whole world! Barone Ricasoli vineyards surround the magnificent Castello di Brolio (see below). The Ricasoli family can be traced here back to the 7th Century! And Brolio Castle has been owned by them since 1141.
